This mesmerizing piece is Steffoinite. She measures 29x38mm and is wrapped in high quality 14/20 gold fill wire. I have to admit, I love all the stones I wrap, but this one is going to be very hard to part with. The instant I saw this piece I knew I had to wrap it. Since I have, I really don?t want to let her go. There is a strong natural allure of the harsh tans and cobalt blue pools separated by the pitch black webbing. The appeal is only deepened by the fascinating story of the origin of this most intriguing stone. The location of the Stefoinite mine in Wyoming has been taken to the grave by its? discoverers, and unfortunately the world has precious little of this fantastic material left. Stefoinite was discovered by a man named Rudy Stefoin in Wyoming. He kept the location of the mine secret until his death and therefore, only a small amount remains for our enjoyment.
